Lessons Learned from 2 Female Entrepreneurs You’ve Probably Never Heard Of

There are lessons to be learned from female entrepreneurs. We usually only hear of celebrity-status entrepreneurs. However, there are plenty of famous entrepreneurs you might not know about even if you know their products. Here are lessons learned from famous female entrepreneurs you’ve probably never heard of.

Alexis Devine

I certainly think so. Check out a video of Bunny the Dog in action.

Alexis also has her own fashion brand and Etsy shop. She has been involved in other projects in the past and has a true entrepreneurial spirit. The lesson to be learned here, is that you can earn money and make a living out of anything and everything. You can become a scientist overnight just from taking a leap into the unknown. Do not just blindly follow the same path as everyone else. If you have an idea and believe in it, take the plunge and go for it like Alexis has done. Who knows, you might make an incredible new discovery.

Liz Weir

Liz Weir is one of six co-founders who created the ethical cosmetics brand, Lush. Lush is a huge company that spans forty-nine countries worldwide. They even have a name for their followers which they lovingly call ‘Lushies’. The brand is 100% vegan, mostly vegan and against animal testing. They were founded in 1995 and continue to boom in popularity today. As the market for this kind of ethical product builds in popularity, so does the business. If you have ever been inside a Lush shop you will know what an experience it is. It is a deli-like setup where you can try before you buy and purchase most of the stock by weight. It is like an emporium of smells and soaps. It is one of those shops where you might go if you want a long conversation with a shop assistant, because one thing is for sure, you are not getting out of there without having a bar of soap or a fizzy bath bomb waved at you by a grinning shop assistant.

Liz and her other co-founders have taught us that there is always a new and innovative way of looking at how to sell your products. They sell soap like a deli; you could sell electronics like a sweet shop or tea bags like butchers. The possibilities are endless. When you get creative with the way you brand and distribute your stock, there is a good chance for you to find new ways of engaging your customers. Always make sure that these methods match your target audience.

Timing of Ideas

Another lesson to be learned here is that if you have a good idea, which might seem ahead of its time, go for it and keep going until it is in its time! Ensure that you move with the times too, by rebranding and altering your logo design. This will give you the years to build the business and create a business that grows in sales as the popularity of the stock grows.

Female entrepreneurs count for an ever-growing percentage of small business owners globally. It is important to recognize their impact on the business world and can be helpful to take their ideas as inspiration and put them into practice for ourselves.
